UC Berkeley Summer Studio 2004

This summer studio was integrated with the final phasing of the Darling Flower Shop Building. This summer design/build studio focussed on areas within the housing project in communal spaces (hallways, rooftop terraces, stairways and balconies). The projects were both furniture an art and were fabricated over the summer at the College of Environmental Design’s shop space. Work was designed for easy installation and adaptation and based on owner’s approval. This gave the students an opportunity to engage with a client as well as have their design installed in a permanent site.
